Job Overview:

Linde is currently seeking a Lead Instrument & Electrical Technician for our newly constructed industrial gas facility in Nederland, TX. This hands-on leadership role reports to the Site Maintenance Manager and works closely with stakeholders to achieve plant reliability goals. The Lead Technician will validate incoming I&E work requests from Operations, formalize scopes, and either perform the work or assign it to other Maintenance Team members. This position also tracks team performance metrics and supports training initiatives.

Responsibilities:

Administrative & Reporting:

  • Maintain operating and maintenance history for all equipment using manual and digital tools.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation such as Hexagon work requests, work orders, service reports, and equipment calibration records in accordance with Linde IMMS and CMMS systems.
  • Monitor I&E documentation performance and report on work order closure rates, schedule breaks, policy compliance, and backlog.
  • Facilitate and assist training on Hexagon and ProCal systems for site staff, including Operations.

Technical Duties:

  • Troubleshoot, calibrate, and maintain pneumatic, analog, and digital process control instrumentation using PLC data, P&IDs, and schematic wiring diagrams.
  • Maintain and repair low voltage electrical systems (600VAC and below); medium voltage experience (up to 13,800V) is a plus.
  • Perform and assign maintenance of electrical and electronic control systems, pneumatics, instrumentation, control valves, motor control systems, and analytical equipment.
  • Support startup, shutdown, and operations of process plant equipment.
  • Calibrate and maintain process analytical equipment such as thermal conductivity analyzers, gas chromatographs, and electrolytic analyzers.
  • Ensure spare parts are available, maintained, and replaced/repaired as needed.
  • Apply Root Cause Analysis (RCA) methodology to failures and support plant investigations with data analysis and diagnostics.
  • Plan and execute expense and capital projects to improve facility availability, reliability, and productivity.
  • Maintain a high degree of personal safety and environmental awareness for self, team, and contractors.
  • Perform elevated work using ladders, stairways, scaffolding, and man-lifts; operate vehicles, forklifts, and other material handling equipment.

Qualifications

 

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a formal apprenticeship program or equivalent technical training.
  • Associate degree from a technical school preferred.
  • Minimum 7+ years of related experience in an industrial environment.
  • At least 2+ years of experience leading a single or multi-craft team.
  • Proven understanding of regulatory and industrial standards and codes.
  • Strong knowledge of control and instrumentation systems.
  • Experience with IMMS/CMMS systems (ProCal, Hexagon, SAP, Maximo).
  • Proficiency in computers and standard software packages (MS Office, Email).
  • On-call availability required for 24/7 operations.
