Role Purpose
The Human Resources Advisor is a strategic business partner to managers and employees, providing advisory services that align with organizational goals. The HR Advisor supports both day-to-day HR operations and longer-term people strategies, with a focus on building strong relationships, advising management on workforce matters, and ensuring the consistent application of policies across locations.
This role is based out of Vancouver and requires occasional travel to other operation locations, approximately quarterly.
About The Role
- Serve as a trusted HR business partner to managers and employees, offering proactive guidance on workforce planning, employee relations, and organizational effectiveness.
- Lead and coordinate recruitment activities across assigned locations, ensuring an effective and inclusive process that attracts, selects, and retains top talent.
- Provide advisory support to managers on performance management, employee engagement, and talent development initiatives.
- Partner with managers to identify training needs, address skill gaps, and support professional development opportunities.
- Lead and contribute to HR projects and initiatives, including system improvements, process enhancements, and strategic people programs.
- Maintain and communicate the company’s HR policies, programs, and procedures, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy and compliance with applicable legislation.
- Act as a backup for payroll vacation coverage.
About You
Experience
- A degree and/or diploma in Human Resources; CPHR designation (preferred).PCP, GBA, or CEBS designation is an asset
- At least 3 years’ experience in an HR generalist or advisory role, preferably in a unionized environment.
- Experience with Oracle Fusion, BambooHR, and/or Dayforce considered an asset
Knowledge And Skills
- Demonstrated experience in recruitment, employee relations, training and development, and HR program delivery.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to act as a collaborative business partner and influence outcomes across multiple departments and levels.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities, provide sound judgment, and deliver practical HR solutions.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian employment legislation (e.g., Canada Labour Code, Human Rights).
Bilingualism (English/French) Preferred.
