The BWRX300 Engineering Operations Manager will provide leadership to a diverse technical team of dedicated engineers and scientists responsible for the design and procurement of equipment and technical services in support of New Nuclear Projects and Opportunities. In this position you will own the coordination between engineering and multiple commercial business teams supporting global opportunities. You will own the tracking, reporting and timely closure of open technical issues and/or concerns across the global matrixed engineering organization. The Operations Manager will partner with internal technical authorities and provide an interface between Engineering and all parties involved in the project including Projects, Commercial, Sourcing, Quality, Customers, Partners, and Subcontractors.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
As the BWRX300 Engineering Operations Manager, you will:
- Report solid line to the General Manager BWRX300 Engineering.
- Provide leadership for a diverse team being accountable for on-time delivery of design products within budget
- Ensure the development of the teams technical and leadership talent/depth
- Establish and maintain strong working relationship with other internal engineering team managers, business leaders, project managers and stakeholders
- Interface with external partners, customers, and other applicable country specific regulatory agencies, as required on technical issues
- Work with functional engineering teams to build estimates, schedules, manage change orders and responses to Corrective Actions.
- Coordinate engineering interfaces and drive timely resolution of technical project issues with multiple engineering disciplines, business project management, partners, subcontractors, and customers
- Provide leadership supporting performance and program management of assigned work and ensure on-time fulfillment of engineering commitments in accordance with contract requirements, business procedures, industry standards and regulatory agency guidelines
- Support the planning, organization, and management of the delivery of technical activities/tasks in support of engineering deliverables
- Support commercial and marketing opportunities to develop new business opportunities
- Protect the Intellectual Property rights of GVH
- Support GVH initiatives, process improvement and simplification
- Ensure adherence to GVH’s standards for nuclear safety and compliance
- Partner with business teams and present product/program strategies, technical roadmaps, risks, and recommendations to senior leads across GVH
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or related Science or technical discipline
- At least 8 years of progressive experience in engineering design and/or project leadership experience
- At least 6 years of experience in the nuclear industry or equivalent large scale new build experience in the power industry
Eligibility Requirements:
- The preferred work location for this role is at the GVH Headquarters in Wilmington, NC, but highly qualified remote (US, based) candidates will be considered. (If remote, must be willing to travel up to 25%)
- This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.

- EPC experience and knowledge; specifically, power plant
- Understanding of nuclear industry and technology

- Demonstrated ability to document, plan, market and manage programs that further the knowledge, understanding and capability of the business
The base pay range for this position is $112,000 to $160,000. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for bonuses, such as a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. This position is expected to close on Friday October 3rd
The company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas.
