As we continue to deliver & evolve, we are looking for an experienced Environmental Advisor to join our project team.
About The Role
This role requires 50% travel to the project site.
The Environmental Advisor is responsible for supporting the project delivery of New Energy projects nationally in accordance with UGL’s environmental management system to ensure environmental risks are minimised and opportunities maximised.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the preparation and implementation of Construction Environmental Management Plans and applicable sub-plans/procedures/tools, in line with the overarching environmental management system.
- Manage day-to-day project requirements with respect to environmental management commensurate with the level of environmental risk.
- Provide environmental technical advice for bid development.
- Build environmental awareness and capability within project teams.
- Liaise with the project management team, employees, subcontractor, and client representatives.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements and all relevant Company policies and processes.
- Participate in environmental risk assessments and design reviews.
- Coordinate project level Environmental and Sustainability reporting (metrics, performance targets and compliance).
- A recognised degree in Environmental Management or other relevant tertiary qualification.
- Minimum 3 years previous experience within the construction or renewable energy sectors.
- A sound knowledge of environmental legislation and requirements.
- Proficient skills in computers: MS Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook etc.
Your Skills And Experience:
- Strong communication skills (oral & written) including strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently to organise and prioritise demands, handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously, set and meet deadlines and follow-through within a fast paced environment with multiple and competing demands.Please note that relevant screening checks will be conducted as part of the recruitment process. These may include a national criminal history check and a requirement for you to undergo pre-employment medical assessment including drug and alcohol screen.
