Huawei’s Nuremberg Research Center is responsible for Network Energy Advanced Technology Research, Architecture Evolution Design and Strategic Technology Planning.

The Power Conversion Technology Laboratory within the Huawei’s Nuremberg Research Center is responsible for Advanced Digital Power Technology Research, Architecture Evolution Design and Strategic Technology Planning, and plays an important role in the Huawei Digital Power business in the design and development of power converters and control systems for applications such as PV Solar & Battery Energy Storage Field, Data Centers, Electric Vehicle, and Embedded Power Supply

Senior Engineer: Thermal Simulation and Design -  Leased Labor (12-18 months)  (m/f/d)

Your Mission

• Responsible for thermal simulation and thermal design of low, medium and high voltage power packages and modules
• Design, optimize and analyze thermal management concepts for low- and high-voltage devices
• Participate in thermal characterization of power modules and thermal management and interface materials and structures
• Support and consult ORC and HQ packaging and application teams in terms of thermal solutions and simulations
• Participate in generation of relevant IP and documentation via invention disclosures
• Market and academia screening in related technical field for cross referencing (documentation via technical insights reports)

Your areas of expertise

• Master of Science in mechanical or material or electrical engineering
• Solid experience in thermal simulation and thermal design
• Experience in mechanical and/or layout designing
• Strong skills in relevant simulation software (e.g. Ansys, COMSOL Multiphysics, Icepak, ..)
• Skills in relevant 3D design software (e.g. Inventor, Solidworks, …)
• Fluent in written and spoken English (working language)
• Good communication skills and multicultural environment adaptability.
