Job Title: IAG Advisor (x2 Vacancies)
Reports to: Homeless Prevention Coordinator
Salary: Scale 6, Points 26-28, £26,229 - £27,982 per annum, pro rata
Hours of work: Full Time (37.5 hours per week)

Key Responsibilities:
Assessment/Support
As an IAG Adviser you will:
- Process triage referrals – agency and self-referrals via telephone, electronic and walk-ins.
- Provide pop up surgeries in assigned geographic location
- Undertake comprehensive and detailed assessments of support and housing needs and identify risks, to ensure the prevention of homelessness, where safe to do so.
- Undertake investigations into housing and personal history to ascertain eligibility, priority need and local connection, on behalf of the local authority.
- Ensure relevant background checks are undertaken to assist in the development of a robust risk management plan.
- Maintain accurate and professional electronic case records, ensuring internal and external data and monitoring systems are always kept up to date.
- Provide high quality homelessness and housing options to young people, ensuring that their needs are met and their expectations managed.
- Make and issue decisions in line with legislation under the Housing Act 1996 and Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
- Present cases where a homelessness main duty is owed under the relief pathway in a timely manner to the local authority.
- Manage a case load of young people through the prevention and/or relief pathways.
- Build and maintain effective and professional working relationships with internal and external partners/agencies in the community
- Provide a holistic multi agency response to young people’s support and housing needs by arranging or attending multi-disciplinary meetings
- Provide young people with information on services they can access within geographic location
- Develop and maintain detailed Personalised Housing Plans (PHP) to ensure young people are:
- referred on and signposted appropriately to relevant services e.g. Floating Support, specialist agencies
- engaging with the actions of their PHP
- provided with the relevant support (56 day duty), leading to the
- prevention or relief of homelessness
Safeguard young people and vulnerable adults at risk, through appropriate escalation and reporting to statutory services e.g. Inter-agency referral and follow up work.
- Ensure young people’s cultural/diverse needs are identified, signposted and being supported
- Identify support for Employability and signpost to appropriate services
- To operate within a duty system at the Youth Hub
- Maintain up to date relevant information and resources.
• Represent and promote the work of the agency and/or project at relevant external and internal meetings and forums.
- Assist in the development of promotional materials e.g. leaflets, fliers, websites.
- To attend and participate in promotional events.
• Promote and facilitate the participation of young people in the management of the project e.g. service user questionnaires, forums etc.
- Manage and report all incidents in line with St Basils procedures
- Undertake all relevant administrative duties
- Highlight trends, gaps in service provision and improvements required to Line Manager.
- Liaise with key partners/funders as appropriate
- Be involved in making funding applications, where required.
- Contribute to project performance indicators and targets.
- Attend and actively participate in supervision, PDR, training, team meetings and case reviews.

- NVQ 3 Advice & Guidance, Care or equivalent or working towards Youth Work, Social Work, or equivalent
