- Salary commencing at $82,635.67 per annum, plus 12% superannuation (commensurate with experience)
- Assist with the development and distribution of digital, media and content within Council
The Opportunity
This role assists with the development and distribution of content across Council’s digital channels to grow engagement and support Council’s strategic objectives. The successful candidate also performs other public relations or communications functions as required for Council.
Responsibilities of the Digital Media Advisor at Council include:
- Work with communication colleagues to deliver engaging digital media and content, supporting communications and marketing strategies for a range of Moonee Valley City Council programs and services.
- Collaborate with Communications team to produce engaging multimedia content including videos, animations, infographics and diagrams.
- Work with the wider communications team to manage Moonee Valley City Council social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube), including writing content, contributing to a social media calendar, posting, monitoring and working with others to draft responses to the community in a timely manner.
- Assist with monitoring, tracking and reporting on Council owned digital channels with the aim of continuously improving the digital communications offering.
- Assist with creating and monitoring digital advertising campaigns.
Skills & Experience required
- Degree or Diploma in Marketing, Public Relations or Communications or equivalent work experience and skills in a similar position.
- Experience with, and a strong understanding of, social media management and administration, accessibility guidelines and best practices for digital content
- Strong communications skills, both written and verbal, especially for online audiences.
