Position Summary
Carroll School is seeking a dynamic Director of Auxiliary Programming to oversee year-round offerings. This 12-month leadership role encompasses management of our highly sought-after Summer@Carroll and After School Enrichment (ASE) programs. The Director will report to the Assistant Head of School for Enrollment and Strategy and play a key role in shaping the future vision of auxiliary learning at Carroll.
Auxiliary Programs
Summer@Carroll (S@C) is a high-demand five-week summer school program for students entering grades 1-9 who have been diagnosed with a language-based learning difference. Students participate in academic classes and recreational programming each day. The program has a substantial waitlist each year. The majority of students in this program do not attend Carroll School during the academic year.
After School Enrichment (ASE) provides essential programming for families on our Lower and Middle School campuses after the traditional school day finishes, separate from our athletic offerings.
S@C Leadership Responsibilities
- Serve as primary lead for day to day operations of the S@C program
- Partner with the S@C assistant directors and senior team to provide the highest-level leadership
- Lead comprehensive recruitment, hiring, and supervision of 100+ academic and enrichment staff
- Market the program to outside schools, families, and prospective employees to ensure full staffing and enrollment
- Hold all fiscal responsibility for program expenses and revenue
- Serve as a key member of the S@C Admission Committee, partnering with the Admission Team on application reading, enrollment processes, and family customer care and communication
- Work with Carroll School academic leadership to align S@C and Carroll School programming
- Oversee student Assessment days in April/May and participate in academic grouping discussions
- Collaborate cross-functionally with IT, HR, Finance, Health and Safety, and Facilities teams
- Manage technology platforms that house essential family and employee documents
- Participate in regular meetings with the Assistant Head of School and other senior Carroll School leaders as necessary
- Work with Carroll’s senior leadership to define a vision for the future of Summer and ASE programming
After School Enrichment Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Auxiliary Programming to ensure excellent customer service for families and program employees
- Operate as the primary manager of the relationship between Carroll School and any ASE program partners
- Plan and execute enrichment programming in close partnership with the Athletic Director and ASE campus coordinators during the academic year
- Oversee the ASE operation by recruiting employees, working closely with the Business Office on registration, billing, and creating student rosters
- Partner closely with campus administrators on logistics and student transportation plans
- Support Carroll School’s community events, including leading the annual Fall Festival day
- Perform support campus duties as needed during that academic year
Requirements
- Excellent organizational, technological, and collaborative interpersonal skills are a must
- Strong written communication skills are essential
- Experience in curriculum development and education is preferred
- Background in camp and/or enrichment programs is preferred
- Passion for the mission of the school and special education programming
- Excellent manager, coach, and mentor
- Strong customer service skills
- Enthusiasm for camps, enrichment programming, and community/culture building
- Flexibility and willingness to execute both high-level strategic responsibilities and detailed daily operational tasks
