Deputy Manager - Coveyor

Site Operations & Oversight

• Ensure the successful installation and operation of conveyor systems by managing all on-site activities, including assembly, alignment, and integration with other mechanical systems.
• Maintain continuous project progress by monitoring daily site operations, resolving issues promptly, and coordinating with site engineers and contractors.
• Enforce adherence to technical specifications and project schedules to achieve efficient system integration and operational effectiveness.

Project Planning & Coordination

• Develop and implement detailed plans and schedules for conveyor system construction, including resource allocation and logistical coordination.
• Align conveyor installation with overall project timelines by coordinating with project management and engineering teams, and adapting plans as needed to address changes or delays.
• Resolve scheduling conflicts and streamline operations to ensure timely and successful conveyor system installation.

Technical Design Review

• Understand and implement  technical designs for conveyor systems, including layout plans, component specifications, and integration requirements.
• Working closely  with engineering teams to ensure all designs meet industry standards and project requirements, addressing  design discrepancies before construction begins.
• Compliance, Quality & Safety Management
• Implement and oversee quality control measures for conveyor system installation to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits of conveyor systems to verify adherence to safety regulations and operational standards.
• Promote a culture of safety by enforcing best practices, conducting safety briefings, and ensuring adherence to health and safety protocols.

Budget & Cost Control

• Manage the budget for conveyor system construction by monitoring expenses related to labour, materials, and equipment.
• Analyse budget variances and implement corrective actions to maintain financial control and ensure cost-effectiveness without compromising quality.
• Align procurement and resource allocation with budget constraints and project requirements.

Risk & Change Management

• Identify and assess risks associated with conveyor system construction, including technical, logistical, and operational challenges.
• Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to address potential issues and minimize their impact on project timelines and costs.
• Manage changes to the conveyor system scope by documenting modifications, assessing their effects on the project, and communicating updates to stakeholders.

Team Management

• Lead from the front the construction team by providing direction, technical guidance, and support for smoother installation & commissioning of conveyor systems.
• Ensure team aligned with project goals and performance expectations, fostering a collaborative work environment.
• Address performance issues, promote professional development, and enhance team capabilities.

Commissioning, Handover & Post-construction Support

• Oversee the commissioning process for conveyor systems, including final testing, system integration, and performance validation.
• Manage the handover process by ensuring that all documentation, training, and operational requirements are met.
• Provide ongoing support and address post-construction issues to ensure continued effectiveness and reliability of the conveyor systems.

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor’s / Diploma Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Professional Certifications related to construction management or conveyor systems (e.g., PMP, Six Sigma, or similar) are advantageous.

Experience

• Minimum of 7-10  years of experience in conveyor system construction or related fields, with a proven track record of managing complex installation projects.
• Extensive experience in overseeing technical design reviews, budget management, risk assessment, and compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Demonstrated experience in leading teams, coordinating with multiple stakeholders, and successfully delivering projects on time and within budget.
• Strong understanding of conveyor system components, integration processes, and operational requirements.
