Essential Job Functions

The Service Business Development Representative (BDR) plays a key role in supporting the dealership’s service department by ensuring strong communication with customers, driving appointment traffic, and enhancing overall service retention. This role requires professionalism, accuracy, and excellent customer service skills in a fast-paced environment.

Core Responsibilities:

Answer and make inbound/outbound calls, emails, and texts to assist customers with service inquiries and scheduling needs.

Schedule, confirm, and manage service appointments to maximize departmental productivity.

Contact customers regarding recommended services, declined work, recalls, and routine maintenance.

Maintain and update accurate customer information in the CRM system and dealership databases.

Communicate effectively with service advisors, technicians, and management to ensure a smooth handoff and seamless customer experience.

Promote dealership service programs, specials, and offers to encourage customer loyalty and retention.

Follow up with customers post-service to confirm satisfaction and encourage future business.

Support departmental campaigns and initiatives aimed at increasing service traffic and revenue.

Provide consistent, professional, and courteous service to all customers, representing the dealership in a positive manner.

Requirements

Physical And Environmental Requirements:

Position is primarily sedentary, requiring long periods of sitting at a desk using a computer and phone.

Frequent use of office equipment including phone, headset, and computer.

Ability to communicate clearly in person, by phone, and through written correspondence.

Indoor office environment with occasional movement throughout dealership facilities.

Minimal physical demands; may include light lifting of office materials (up to 10 lbs.).

Work Schedule:

Full-time role; schedule may include weekdays, evenings, and occasional Saturdays depending on dealership needs.

Qualifications:

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to multitask, stay organized, and manage time effectively.

Customer service or call center experience preferred.

Proficiency with computers, CRM systems, and office software.
