Job Summary

Provide guidance and personal assistance to empower Drexel community in effectively finding, assessing, evaluating, & applying new info; participate in the selection of scholarly published resources to support research, course curricula, and program accreditation standards; collaborate with faculty partners to develop and foster info literacy competencies in learning outcomes; and, promote greater impact of DU-generated research through support and guidance of researchers to effectively disseminate and manage research projects.

Essential Functions

  • Create and maintain research guides and tutorials that assist patrons in finding, accessing, evaluating, and using information effectively
  • Collaborate with other libraries, faculty and staff, and students to help integrate knowledge of information literacy, information resources, and diverse info-seeking behaviors into Drexel's curriculum
  • Engage with the Libraries' communications team to promote awareness & understanding of Libraries' resources, services, and expertise
  • Actively share information and feedback from patrons (with whomever appropriate) to improve services and resources and convey community info needs
  • Support selection and access decisions for scholarly info resources
  • Contribute professionally through participation in campus activities, external service, publication, presentation, or research
  • Inspire self-directed learning and critical thinking by providing reference and customized consultations in-person and virtually

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree
  • Undergraduate degree, graduate coursework, or professional experience in the health sciences, public health, psychology, biology, or biomedical sciences
  • Demonstrated interest in health and biomedical sciences information resources, tools, and scholarly trends
  • Demonstrated knowledge or interest in health sciences, public health, psychology, and biomedical sciences pedagogy and current instructional techniques
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with strong public service orientation and commitment to inclusiveness of diverse ideas and perspectives
  • Evidence of self-motivation to address new challenges, ability to solve problems with minimal supervision, and commitment to continued learning
  • Demonstrated ability to work in team environment including leading when appropriate and taking constructive input from multiple sources
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering a campus culture of belonging in both physical and virtual spaces
  • Demonstrated involvement and contribution to the profession through service, presentations, publications, and/or research

Additional Information
This position is classified as Exempt, grade K. Compensation for this grade ranges from $ 54,630.00 to $ 81,940.00 per year. Please note that the offered rate for this position typically aligns with the minimum to midrange of this grade, but it can vary based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
