Description
Vistra is seeking a Web Content Manager to support the U.S. Coast Guard Office of Governmental Public Affairs (CG-092). The manager will oversee content for USCG.mil and MYCG, ensuring compliance with Coast Guard standards and maintaining a consistent, professional appearance. Responsibilities include updating pages, fixing links, managing files, analyzing web analytics, and supporting content archiving and release plans. The role also enforces web governance policies, recommends updates, and provides comprehensive content management support across platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor, review and respond to web communications services requests.
- Set up, change or remove web content manager permissions.
- Participate and contribute to the web migration planning and implementation process and support all pre-web migration web designs projects including editing pages and uploading new content.
- Create agency content briefs and oversee content creation insuring alignment to communication objectives and messaging.
- Test, monitor, and optimize content to maximize engagement and demand.
- Identify and resolve accessibility issues.
- Support efforts to conduct web site audits to develop and existing map.
- Identify existing pages that are obsolete and archive/unpublish them.
- Serve as back up support for emerging leadership web publications.
- Help create redirects for new web pages.
- Identify areas of modernization and/or process improvement related to web design and migration.
- Develop and manage content on Sharepoint.
- Review website content, provide monthly user data reports, and recommend website updates, revisions, and archiving outdated web content related to improving user experience.
- Develop new or update existing content. This includes developing or updating content that incorporates links to relevant content from across USCG websites, based on metadata and subject matter. Design and implement subsites/microsites, webpages, and other features.
- Recommend the development of and provide ongoing support for search engine optimization.
- Ensure compliance with Section 508 and improve the accessibility of content.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, media, or related field., and at least four (4) years of relevant experience, OR
- Master’s degree or higher in business, communications, media, or related field, and at least two (2) years of experience.
- Ability to write content and edit web pages using plain language.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.
