Job Overview
We’re hiring a Lead Business Systems Analyst to translate complex business goals into clear, testable requirements for an AI-first, data-centric platform. You will drive discovery, define user stories and acceptance criteria, steward domain vocabularies/ontologies with SMEs, and anchor UAT and pilot readiness. The ideal candidate blends enterprise BA rigor with enough technical fluency to work across knowledge graphs, retrieval (RAG), APIs, security/entitlements, and evaluation frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Discovery & Requirements: Elicit outcomes, top-N questions, and edge cases; map current vs. future workflows; write user stories with unambiguous acceptance criteria.
- Domain Modeling: Partner with SMEs to align ontology/taxonomy and data dictionaries; maintain definitions, lineage/provenance notes, and change logs.
- Interface & Data Contracts: Specify request/response schemas, field constraints, error states, and entitlement rules (role/row/column) for APIs and data pipelines.
- Evaluation Readiness: Curate test sets and ground truth; define scoring rubrics (faithfulness/correctness, precision/recall, latency) in partnership with engineering and QA.
- Backlog & Scope Management: Own the functional backlog, prioritize by value/risk, groom stories, and manage scope through structured change control.
- UAT & Pilot Enablement: Orchestrate UAT scripts and test data; coordinate business sign-off; document defects and acceptance decisions.
- Documentation & Communication: Produce BRDs/FRDs, process maps, RTMs (requirements traceability), and release notes; communicate decisions to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Risk & Compliance Alignment: Capture policy/guardrail requirements (PII/PHI, access, audit) and ensure they are reflected in designs, tests, and runbooks.
- Value Tracking: Define KPIs and baseline metrics; support dashboards for quality, latency, and adoption; contribute to executive readouts.
Required Skills
- Enterprise BA Expertise: 3-5+ years in business/functional analysis with end-to-end ownership of discovery → requirements → UAT → acceptance.
- Specification Mastery: Strong user stories, use cases, and acceptance criteria; proficiency with RTMs and change control.
- Data & Semantics: Hands-on experience with data dictionaries, schemas, and ontology/taxonomy alignment; comfort reading SQL or query outputs for validation.
- Evaluation Mindset: Ability to design test sets and measurable rubrics; familiarity with A/B or side-by-side comparisons.
- Security & Entitlements: Practical understanding of RBAC/ABAC, data classification, audit requirements, and privacy constraints.
- Tools & Collaboration: Proficiency with backlog/requirements tools (Jira/Azure DevOps), diagramming (Visio/Lucid), and documentation wikis; excellent facilitation and communication skills.
Good to Have Skills
- AI/Knowledge Systems Exposure: Concepts of Knowledge Graphs (RDF/Gremlin), RAG pipelines, embeddings, and retrieval parameters-enough to collaborate effectively with engineers.
- API Literacy: Reading OpenAPI/JSON Schema; specifying contracts and error taxonomies for service integrations.
- Process & Quality Frameworks: BPMN/UML, SIPOC/CTQ, Six Sigma/Lean concepts; experience building RTMs and UAT packs in regulated environments.
- Analytics & KPI Design: Comfort defining business KPIs, baselining, and working with product/ops to interpret dashboard trends.
- Change Enablement: Experience with training materials, quick-start guides, and pilot playbooks to support adoption.
This role suits a structured, outcome-driven analyst who can turn ambiguous needs into precise, testable requirements-and ensure solutions are accepted, explainable, and ready for scale.
