Group Leader – Requirements and Acceptance / Systems Engineering

Salary range: £75,000 - £95,000 + Comprehensive Benefits   

Location: Bristol is preferable but would consider any office for the right candidate.

Working Pattern: We operate a flexible hybrid working pattern at Frazer-Nash, with time split between the office, client sites and working from home.

We are inviting applications for the role of Group Leader of one of the Requirements and Acceptance / Systems Engineering Groups. The role will involve leading, resourcing and mentoring a Group. The role will be accountable to the Discipline Manager for Systems Engineering and will be responsible for contributing to the delivery of Systems Engineering projects across the company.

Responsibilities for this role will include:

  • Delivery against Group targets as determined by their Discipline Manager.
  • Ensuring the technical excellence of all work carried out by the staff within the Group.
  • Carrying out the day-to-day management of designated staff including welfare, attendance, holidays and task allocation.
  • Interpreting the technical requirements of clients and approving technical approaches and solutions to meet those requirements.
  • Generation and communication of the Group strategic vision for the technical development of their Group.
  • Planning the resources for the Group and aiding others in resource management such that the overall resourcing of the company is optimised.
  • Evaluating the impact of decisions and or project outcomes on strategies, operation and budgets, and consult appropriately.
  • Providing an interface to the Market Facing Business Unit Delivery Portfolio Managers.
  • Promoting the activities and skills of the Group and co-operating with Business Managers in planning business development activities.
  • Providing resources to undertake business development activities in accordance with campaign plans agreed with Business Managers / Client Directors.

The requirements for the role are set out below:

  • Able to manage the Group, providing guidance and supporting the growth of the Group’s services.
  • Have a thorough understanding of the Systems Engineering Services that Frazer-Nash Offer, including but not limited to:
  • Knowledge of a recognised PM framework.
  • Mbse.

  • Systems Engineering Management.

  • Systems Thinking.

  • Requirements Capture and Management.
  • Acceptance planning, execution and management.
  • Have a working knowledge of ISO 15288:2023.                
  • Master’s Degree (Level 7) / higher or equivalent experience in relevant area.
  • Should hold Chartered or equivalent status.
  • Extensive experience in a consultancy environment.
  • Supervision / Line management experience.
  • Significant academic and practical knowledge of the technical area.

The centre of mass of this Group is centred in Bristol, therefore the candidate needs to consider how they will support the group day to day.

Due to the nature of the work that Frazer-­Nash Consultancy undertake, candidates will be required to undergo pre-employment screening and must be able to satisfy clearance criteria for UK National Security Vetting.
