About The Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced QA/QC  Manager to oversee all aspects of QA/QC in our drivetrain remanufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, quality leadership with ASQ certifications. A background in gearbox technology and wind turbines preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for process oversight on incoming inspections of new and reused gearing, reworked components and engineered flow parts.
• Responsible for development of process quality documentation and resolution,  including creating, updating and maintaining work instructions.
• Responsible for process oversight on quality sign off for all outgoing major component shipments.
• Manage supplier qualification processes to ensure supplier compliance to GBX best practice..
• Generate and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) and Root cause analysis (5Y or 8D).
• Champion - Manage, collaborate and develop Engineering Change Requests (ECR) process and documentation.
• Responsible to manage calibration system for compliance to standards.
• Accountable to quality department KPI’s, analyze quality data and communicate monthly reporting for continuous improvement.
• Champion - Manage, collaborate, and develop process documentation (policy, procedures, WI) for compliance to ISO-9001-2015, ISO-14001.
• Support warranty investigations and Root Cause Analyses (RCA).
• Assist with the test bench, final inspection, and green tag program.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to create quality inspection sign-offs.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to address quality issues and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Train and mentor staff on manufacturing/quality best practices and processes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field. ASQ certifications (CMQ-OE, CQM, CQE). Applicable experience may be considered in place of a degree.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality supervision within the mechanical manufacturing, engineering or remanufacturing industry.
• In-depth knowledge of gearbox technology and remanufacturing processes a plus.
• Strong understanding of quality assurance principles, standards, and methodologies.  (Six Sigma green or black a plus)
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in Quality Management System (QMS) development (software and tools).
