Key Responsibilities of the Corporate Development and Fundraising Specialist
- Fundraising Strategy & Business Development: Collaborate with the Executive Director to develop and implement effective strategies and proposals to secure corporate funding. This involves identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding a portfolio of current and prospective corporate supporters.
- Non-Profit Sales: Apply a strategic sales approach to inspire corporate giving. You will develop compelling proposals that articulate the NCCN Foundation's value and mission, and make a strong case for support to prospective partners.
- Donor Engagement: Maintain an aggressive visitation schedule, aiming for 8-10 visits per month, and travel as necessary to meet with donors and prospects.
- Marketing & Communication: Work with NCCN departments to gather project information and budgets, creating persuasive proposals and marketing materials that demonstrate the impact of contributions. Maintain current knowledge of NCCN programs to present the mission in a compelling way.
- CRM and Business Administration: Utilize a CRM system, Salesforce, to meticulously record, track, and forecast activity. This includes performing essential business administration tasks to ensure accurate reporting on caseload performance.
- Stewardship: Coordinate and manage an effective program for the recognition, involvement, and stewardship of all donors.
- Workplace Giving: Support workplace giving campaigns within your portfolio to generate revenue and build a pipeline for future major gift supporters.
Requirements
Qualifications And Requirements
- Experience: Three or more years of business development or corporate fundraising experience is required. Preference will be given to candidates with fundraising experience in the cancer or healthcare sector.
- Education: A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is necessary.
- Non-Profit Knowledge: An interest in all aspects of cancer research, treatment, and patient care is required, along with a deep understanding of the non-profit sector.
- Skills: Demonstrated ability to apply a strategic sales mindset, strong organizational abilities for effective business administration, and a proven capacity to work collaboratively.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in fundraising software is essential, with a preference for candidates experienced with the Salesforce platform.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal, written, interpersonal, and analytical skills are required to articulate the case for support and make daily prospecting calls.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Location: This position is based in Plymouth Meeting, PA, with the flexibility to work remotely up to two days per week.
- Travel: Moderate overnight travel is required for donor and prospect visits.
