• Oversees the planning, development, implementation and maintenance of manufacturing methods, processes, tooling and operations for new and existing products.
• Ensures the effective use of materials, equipment, and personnel in producing quality products at minimum costs. Acts as liaison with engineering in releasing new products.
• Develops systems to maintain reports and record keeping of company products.
• Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
• Performs all required management responsibilities including but not limited to: implementing the company's policies, programs, and guidelines; ensuring employee productivity and growth; managing resources; knowing Varian's business; and maintaining functional, technical, and external market awareness necessary for managing immediate organization.
• Executes on Manufacturing strategy and collaborates cross functionally with engineering, supply chain and quality in releasing new products
• Drives smart factory assessments and implements tools in line with the global technical digitalization roadmap
• Promotes Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing methodologies resulting in cost-reductions and customer give backs.
• Scope of role may include interaction with other sites and operations, and with other business functional areas such as Service and R&D

Minimum Required Skills And Knowledge:

• Ability, competence, and confidence to lead people.
• Effective interpersonal skills.
• Understanding and working knowledge of business financials.
• Experience with Operations finance, particularly standard product costing and cost benefit analysis.
• Program/project planning and management experience.
• Knowledge and experience with Lean Manufacturing, Design for Excellence or similar principles
• Established network with other Engineering professionals or other Eng organizations or societies.
• Understanding of Engineering requirements for the healthcare equipment industry, particularly those found with FDA and ISO13485.
• Familiarity and working abilities with: Project Planning, charting and presentations, financial models.

·         Typical Education And Experience:

• Bachelors Degree or equivalent. 10 years of related experience.
• 5 years management experience.
