About The Role:

The Warehouse Associate I 2nd Shift (Forklift Operator) plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and safe handling of materials within a non-durable goods manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for the accurate receipt, storage, and distribution of products and raw materials during the second shift, contributing directly to the smooth operation of the supply chain. The associate will operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to move inventory safely and efficiently, maintaining organization and accessibility within the warehouse. Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols are essential to prevent damage to goods and ensure a secure working environment. Ultimately, this role supports production schedules and customer satisfaction by maintaining timely and accurate inventory flow throughout the shift.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid forklift operator certification or the ability to obtain certification upon hire.
  • Previous experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or manufacturing setting.
  • Basic math and reading skills to accurately process orders and inventory documentation.
  • Ability to work the 2nd shift schedule reliably.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a non-durable goods manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or inventory tracking software.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA safety standards related to warehouse operations.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and communication skills in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse.
  • Receive incoming shipments, verify quantities and quality against purchase orders, and properly store items in designated locations.
  • Pick and prepare orders for shipment according to company standards and customer requirements.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records through scanning and documentation, reporting discrepancies or damages promptly.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for self and coworkers.
  • Assist with general warehouse housekeeping to keep the work area clean, organized, and free of hazards.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily production and shipping goals.

Skills:

The required skills such as forklift operation and inventory management are utilized daily to move materials safely and maintain accurate stock levels, ensuring operational efficiency. Attention to detail and basic math skills support the accurate processing of shipments and order fulfillment. Preferred skills like familiarity with warehouse management systems enhance the ability to track inventory electronically, improving accuracy and speed. Safety knowledge is applied continuously to prevent accidents and maintain compliance with regulations. Effective communication and teamwork skills facilitate coordination with colleagues and supervisors to meet production targets and resolve issues promptly.
