Martin Luther School at Gemma Services is currently seeking a Licensed Behavior Specialist.

General Responsibilities:

The Licensed Behavior Specialist or Registered Behavior Technician working towards a BCBA certification supports school staff addressing school maladaptive behavior and skill challenges

The specialist collaborates with staff and families to develop and implement functional Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP’s) and skill acquisition programs tailored to school settings

Duties include completing Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA’s) and initiating interventions when students are not adequately supported by Positive Behavior Support Systems (PBS), training staff and when applicable supporting families at home

Creates IEP goals and progress monitoring tools for skill based and behavioral objectives related to learning or behavioral challenges

Provides specialized programming for Tier 3 students, in school suspensions, or reintegration

Prepare date reports for individuals, classrooms, and school wide behavior trends related to identified challenges

Other related job responsibilities as needed

Education/Training:

  • A master’s degree in psychology, education, or another related field
    • Advanced coursework in ABA or experience with children in a school setting
  • Licensed Behavior Specialist in the state of Pennsylvania required

Or

  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) actively pursuing a BCBA certification

Top Skill(S):

  • Experience conducting Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA’s)
  • Designing Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSP’s)
  • Ability to teach functional communication and social skills
  • Staff training experience
