Requirements:

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in fleet management, transportation supervision, or similar role.
  • Valid Class A CDL license required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • In-depth knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations and Hours of Service (HOS).
  • Strong understanding of transportation safety standards and risk management practices.
  • Familiarity with vehicle maintenance schedules and equipment lifecycle management.
  • Experience with budgeting and cost control in fleet operations.
  • Ability to perform well in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
  • Strong decision-making skills when balancing compliance, cost, and service.

Job Description:

The Fleet Transportation Supervisor is responsible for ensuring all drivers remain DOT compliant while managing fleet operations with a focus on safety, efficiency, and services excellence. This role oversees driver performance, fleet compliance, vendor management, and local transportation activities to support GTs operational goals.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

Driver & Compliance Management.

  • Ensure all drivers meet DOT requirements and maintain accurate driver qualification files.
  • Partner with GTs Talent Team to recruit, select, orient and train Class A drivers.
  • Support driver development by providing ongoing coaching and creating professional growth opportunities.
  • Conduct bi-weekly safety training sessions for Class A drivers and enforce organizational safety standards.

Fleet & Equipment Oversight

  • Procure vehicles and equipment in alignment with departmental needs and budget.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure all GT equipment remains compliant and operational.
  • Lead the implementation of fleet technology projects, including ELD and YMS systems.
  • Oversee scheduling of yard moves and maintain equipment efficiency.

Operational Leadership.

  • Develop and manage driver schedules, including PTO request and sick time, to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Validate, process and document vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely payments.
  • Manage fleet-related expenses and maintain cost measures.

Performance and Customer Service.

  • Prepare and submit weekly and quarterly fleet performance metrics to senior leadership.
  • Manage local outbound finish goods deliveries to meet customer scorecard expectations.
  • Partner cross-functionally to identify inbound pickup opportunities, improving overall fleet efficiency.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Proven experience supervising drivers and managing DOT compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation safety regulations and fleet management systems.
  • Experience in scheduling, dispatching, managing PTO/sick time.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and vendor management skills.

  • Pay Range: $68,640 to $80,000 yearly
