Centre of power engineering is a world-leading research center in electric power engineering, driving research excellence and innovation towards a sustainable, reliable and low-carbon energy future.
Our centre is seeking to hire a motivated research fellow to conduct advanced research on power engineering. The position will focus on cutting-edge research, dissemination of findings, and translation into industry applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research on small-signal and large-signal stability analysis of power-electronic-based power grids, including power converter modeling, dynamics analysis of clustered converters, and control design for system stability enhancement.
- Perform software & hardware validation using simulation tools and converter experiments.
- Publish research findings in top-tier IEEE journals and present at leading conferences.
- Collaborate with the team to develop innovative solutions for improving the stability of power-electronic-based power grids.
Job Requirements:
- PhD degree in electrical engineering or related field
- Strong knowledge of power electronic converters, converter control, and stability analysis methodologies
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proficiency in programming, real-time simulation with OPAL-RT, and conducting hardware experiments
- Self-motivated, responsible, and able to work independently as well as in a team.
- A strong background in large-signal dynamics analysis of power converters is a distinct advantage.
