The Group Tax Manager plays a leading global role in managing the Group’s tax obligations and ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations. This role requires close collaboration and engagement with Group executive leadership, internal departments (primarily Accounting, Finance and Legal) and external tax consultants in tax planning, compliance and strategy development to optimize tax outcomes, support business operations and mitigate risks. This role reports directly to the Group Vice President, Finance.
Essential Functions
- Collaborates with external tax consultants to ensure the accurate and timely preparation and filing of various Group HQ, KAB subsidiary and Chrome subsidiary tax returns (U.S. federal, U.S. state and local) in compliance with applicable tax laws.
- Ensures accurate and timely payment of all tax obligations (U.S. federal, state and local) for Group HQ, KAB subsidiary and Chrome subsidiary.
- Manages U.S. indirect tax responsibilities for Group HQ, KAB subsidiary and Chrome subsidiary; including sales and use tax filings and amendments, real and business property filings, unclaimed property and business tax registrations, renewals, and other compliance filings.
- Oversees tax audits by governmental authorities globally for all Group subsidiaries to mitigate risk and penalties, including the preparation of responses to any tax audit correspondence.
- Coordinates and works with external tax consultants in the preparation of annual transfer pricing documentation and annual U.S. R&D tax credit studies for Group and its subsidiaries.
- Assists with Group intercompany accounting and preparation of intercompany agreements in compliance with transfer pricing.
- Assists Group Treasurer with intercompany cash transfers to ensure compliance with transfer pricing and optimize tax efficiency for Group.
- Works with external tax consultants in the identification and implementation of tax-saving opportunities and strategies to help the overall Group maintain compliance, optimize tax efficiency, maximize deductions and avoid penalties.
- Monitors and updates the tax policies, controls and procedures for the Group to comply with evolving tax laws, regulations and industry trends.
- Conducts tax research with Tax Manager at KEEN subsidiary and external tax consultants to address specific tax issues and communicate the financial implications of complex tax concepts to leadership, management and colleagues.
- Collaborates with leadership, management and internal departments to ensure alignment with organizational goals and strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
- CPA or MST required
- Six (6) or more years of proven experience, with a mix of public accounting and corporate tax preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- • Extensive technical knowledge of U.S. tax accounting, tax compliance and relevant laws
- • Strong understanding of federal tax laws, including corporate, pass-through regimes, and international tax regimes
- • Strong understanding of ASC 740
- • Experience with U.S. indirect taxes, including sales taxes
- • Experience with transfer pricing at a multinational corporation
- • Understanding of U.S. R&D tax credit
- • Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably SAP
- • Exceptional leadership, communication, and project management skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and geographies
- • Excel at managing multiple deadlines and can adapt quickly to evolving needs
- • Strong attention to detail while maintaining big-picture awareness
Travel - No
Base Salary: $151,200 - $168,000 yearly
This range represents the low and high ends of this position's anticipated base salary range. The actual base salary will depend on numerous factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, and location.
