We are looking for a manager for the Health and Safety (H&S) Program Management team who will be responsible for driving a strategic approach to delivering high-level programs for the AWS Safety team, strategic team leadership and development, setting and driving team vision and objectives, mentoring and growing program management talent, managing team performance management and career development
The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated manager with a solid knowledge in program management as well as safety systems, and a proven track record of designing, deploying, and managing global programs. They will have a history of building partnerships with diverse teams across multiple jurisdictions. The candidate must have the ability define clear requirements in ambiguity, proactively educate team members, leaders, and other support teams, and communicate effectively and consistently throughout all levels of the business. The role will evolve with the maturity and growth of the programs and requires a high degree of flexibility, including the ability to deep dive into time critical programs and products, manage a team of program managers, and deliver continuous improvement actions.

Key job responsibilities
• Manage and oversee a team of program managers.
• Manage and oversee multiple H&S programs and projects. This includes technical writing, program maintenance, deployment of new programs, and continuous improvement of existing programs.
• Develop trusting relationships with partners and customers, understanding their business needs and troubleshoot challenges
• Collaborate with AWS program teams, field safety teams, Engineering, and other functional team in the development and implementation of H&S operational excellence solutions
• Identify, action, and/or provide advice on how the H&S programs will improve and streamline business operations to drive growth, improve organizational efficiency to improve workplace safety
• Demonstrate excellent time-management skills and the ability to work independently while using centralized resources, policies, and procedures
• Portfolio management across multiple programs
• Resource allocation and prioritization across team projects
• Strategic planning and roadmap development at a team level
• Budget management and resource planning

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $189,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
