Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Process Engineer II to support the development and execution of process engineering deliverables across a variety of projects. Working under the guidance of Lead and Senior Engineers, this role involves managing intermediate-level tasks and contributing to the design and documentation of process systems.
The Process Engineer II will be responsible for a defined scope of work—such as a unit operation or small area—and is expected to understand project schedules and budgets, develop work plans, and support broader team goals. This role also includes mentoring entry-level staff and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure high-quality, compliant, and constructible designs.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with clients, vendors, and external partners to support project execution.
- Develop construction drawing packages and write specifications for basic projects with oversight.
- Support construction activities including RFIs, submittal reviews, punch lists, and progress reports.
- Participate in squad checks to ensure coordinated and high-quality deliverables.
- Mentor Designer I staff and assist in translating engineering designs into Revit models.
- Contribute to project system design programming with support from senior engineers.
- Build relationships with vendors and attend industry events to stay informed on trends and technologies.
- Delegate basic tasks to entry-level staff and oversee their work.
- Generate complex deliverables including:
- Basis of Design reports
- Hazardous Material Summaries
- Material Balances
- Heat Transfer Calculations
- Process Simulations
- Process Descriptions
- Equipment Specifications
- Hygienic Piping Specifications
- Room Cards
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a discipline-specific engineering field (ABET-accredited).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a design firm or operating company.
- Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam registration or completion preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with AutoCAD and Revit preferred.
- Strong ability to perform engineering calculations using templates.
- Ability to develop novel calculations from first principles.
- Familiarity with discipline-specific codes and industry standards.
- Exposure to applicable regulatory guidance and building codes.
- Experience conducting field surveys and supporting field reporting.
- Proficient in cross-discipline coordination and collaboration with construction trade partners, vendors, and manufacturers.
