None/Not RequiredThe Collins Aerospace Global Engineering Center in Puerto Rico is seeking a visionary and experienced technical manager to lead the Advanced Engineering Analysis & Transformation team. This role is pivotal in driving innovation, adopting cutting-edge engineering practices, and advancing analytical capabilities within the Advanced Structures business unit. The selected candidate will foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement to build a high-performing team capable of delivering transformative results.
The Engineering Manager will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to define and execute strategic initiatives, pilot projects, and impactful use cases. This includes aligning efforts with business priorities such as sustainability, analysis excellence, knowledge management, root cause corrective action (RCCA) investigations, and design optimization for cost, weight, producibility, and performance.
This position will sit at our Aguadilla, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.
This role is categorized as hybrid, with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote following the schedule assigned by the Manager.
What You Will Do
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a multidisciplinary team, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Manage recruitment, hiring, onboarding, resource allocation, and overall group management to foster a diverse and inclusive environment.
- Conduct performance reviews, track team and individual metrics, and oversee career development and succession planning.
- Support the technical growth of engineers by providing guidance, coaching, and fostering continuous learning.
- Develop and execute roadmaps for advanced engineering analysis initiatives, leveraging data science, machine learning, and modeling tools to address business needs.
- Partner with engineering disciplines to align analysis capabilities with design and manufacturing processes.
- Identify data gaps, develop solutions to address them, and lead cross-functional efforts or delegate ownership as needed.
- Collaborate with disciplines such as structures, thermal, dynamics, carbon, and NPI engineering to drive engineering excellence.
- Work closely with manufacturing, quality, aftermarket, and airline customers to deliver innovative, measurable solutions.
- Establish strong relationships with Business Units, Global Engineering and Technology Centers, and subject matter experts (SMEs) to provide high-quality support and build trust.
- Partner with Collins Aerospace Global Engineering Centers, Best Cost Engineering organizations, CAS, ART, and DT to leverage shared knowledge and resources.
- Promote and implement CORE (Customer Oriented Results & Excellence) processes and tools to drive continuous improvement and operational effectiveness.
- Develop standard work guidelines and collaborate with the Lifecycle Data team to produce solutions where appropriate.
- Drive policies, practices, and procedure improvements to ensure alignment with organizational goals and industry best practices.
- Oversee project planning, budgeting, and execution to ensure on-time and within-budget delivery.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams in the successful execution of complex technical projects from concept to completion.
- Travel up to 10% domestically and internationally, as needed, to support business objectives.
- Perform additional responsibilities and tasks as required.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
- Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).

Qualifications We Prefer:
- Proven experience in engineering management, particularly in digital transformation, model-based enterprise, or related fields.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire diverse, cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment.
- Experience utilizing CORE or similar continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
- Experience collaborating with global teams with diverse technical and functional backgrounds.
- Experience with Agile methodology
- Experience in the Aerospace industry.
- Experience with technology project development, including TDP: TRL/MML/MRL progression projects.
- Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management tools, SAP, and Configuration Management.
- Experience with project management and applying Earned Value Management System (EVMS) performance metrics.
- Strong technical expertise in lifecycle data applications, engineering process optimization, and advanced data science tools.
- Experience with object-oriented programming languages (C++, Python, ADA) or similar tools.
- Knowledge in developing machine learning (ML) and physics-informed machine learning (PIML).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, navigate complex challenges, and deliver results.
