Purpose of Role: As a Talent Acquisition Specialist, you’ll play a vital role in shaping our organisation’s future. You’ll lead end-to-end recruitment processes to ensure we attract high-calibre talent while delivering an outstanding candidate experience. Working in close partnership with hiring managers, you’ll drive effective sourcing, screening, selection and onboarding strategies. Success in this role relies on your strong customer focus and ability to communicate confidently across all levels of the business. You’ll also be instrumental in cultivating meaningful relationships with local colleges, universities and training providers - strengthening our talent pipeline and championing our commitment to community engagement

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment: Apply proactive, imaginative and cost-effective recruitment strategies to attract a diverse range of candidates. This includes leveraging online platforms, social media, our applicant tracking system (Workday), community networks, and partnerships with colleges and universities. Partner with Hiring Managers and HR Business Partners to gain a deeper understanding of each role, its function, and how it fits within the wider team and organisation. From screening CVs to conducting interviews, you’ll assess candidate suitability for current and future opportunities, always with a focus on quality, inclusion and long-term potential.
  • Brand Ambassador: Be committed to delivering an exceptional experience for both candidates and hiring managers through timely, thoughtful communication and follow-up. Act as a visible and proactive advocate for our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiatives - ensuring these values are reflected throughout the recruitment journey. Represent Weir with pride across internal and external networks, engaging with key associations and communities. You’ll also play a vital role in building strong, lasting relationships with local colleges, universities and training providers - helping to grow our future talent pipeline and reinforce our presence within the wider community.
  • Technology & Process: Encourage candidates to apply for open roles via our applicant tracking system (Workday), ensuring a smooth and timely recruitment journey. Use the ATS to proactively build and maintain talent pools for high-volume and high-value skill areas. Consistently follow global recruitment processes to support our “One Way of Work” approach- ensuring recruitment activities and workflows are documented clearly and consistently across the business
  • Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviours in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.

Job Knowledge/Education And Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience managing full-cycle recruitment across a variety of functions and business lines, with a particular focus on manufacturing, supply chain, blue collar and skilled trades roles, as well as professional and leadership appointments
  • Expert in sourcing candidates Using external channels such as search engines, job boards, social media and our applicant tracking system (Workday), alongside building strong partnerships with local colleges, universities and community organisations to attract diverse talent. Having experience Recruiting into the Venlo area is a plus but wider EMEA experience in. a must
  • Expert in Stakeholder Engagement Proven ability to engage and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders as a trusted business partner, supported by excellent verbal and written communication skills and a track record of crafting compelling, candidate-centric job adverts and messaging. To be successful in this role you must be proficient in English and Dutch.
  • Be confident using tools such as Word, Excel, and Copilot is an added plus.
