We partner with all areas of CommBank to provide specialist advice, support, and services in finance, audit, treasury, property, procurement, climate strategy, and investor relations.
Within Financial Services, the Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) Reporting & Data team sits within Group Finance and works across the Group to deliver reporting and data solutions. We support the Group’s commitment to Australia’s transition to a net zero economy by 2050, managing climate change risks and opportunities, supporting our customers, and advocating for an inclusive transition. Our team focuses on:
- Performance Reporting: Internal & external reporting of climate-related commitments, including financed emissions, sector-level targets, and the Bank’s Sustainability Funding Target.
- Statutory Reporting: Implementing climate-related mandatory reporting, compliance with regulatory and assurance requirements.
- Data Strategy: Developing the Group’s ESG data strategy, enhancing reporting and data capabilities, and managing end-to-end data activities.
- Climate Policy: Providing technical climate expertise, supporting external reporting requirements, and assisting business units in interpreting standards.

The purpose of this role is to help deliver the strategic agenda for the ESG Reporting & Data team. As the Insights Analytics Manager – ESG Performance Reporting, you will report directly to the Senior Manager, ESG Performance Reporting.
We are looking for an Insights Analytics Manager with strong data and analytics skills, experience in reporting, and a passion for solving problems. Your role will be critical in supporting key reporting deliverables across the ESG Reporting & Data team, including driving solutions to enhance existing reporting processes. You will work extensively with the broader ESG Reporting & Data team, the Group Environmental & Social Strategy team, and the CBA Group Business Unit ESG and finance teams.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support the build and execution of the Australian Housing financed emissions and glidepath calculation, including coding updates to uplift and rebuild the existing model.
- Collaborate with team members and various ESG teams across the Group to support the build and execution of other mandatory disclosures.
- Investigate and solve data and calculation issues, and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Prepare key reporting deliverables (internal and external) for quarterly and annual reporting cycles.
- Assist with year-end reporting and audit deliverables, including the Climate Report and Annual Report.
- Develop and operationalise key reporting processes to gather and transform financial and climate-related data.
- Enhance the end-to-end control environment and data management of climate-related data to improve data capture and quality.
- Drive capability uplift across the team on Python coding and identify opportunities to improve, automate, simplify, and de-risk reporting processes.
- Collaborate with the broader ESG Performance Reporting team and ESG teams in the business units to drive improvements.
- Provide critical insights to drive discussion, support transparency, and deliver value-add analysis for senior stakeholders.

We’re Interested in Hearing from People Who Have:
- Strong analytical and data processing skills with experience working with large datasets and the ability to draw insights on business problems and identify drivers.
- Experience in an analytics role working with complex data transformations and calculations, with the ability to interrogate and understand data manipulations.
- Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment that is often ambiguous.
- A positive outlook and ability to collaborate across multiple teams and deliver to reporting timeframes.
- Proactive and solutions-based approach with strong critical thinking and attention to detail.
- A creative problem solver who is passionate about driving process improvement and change.
- Proven ability to deliver challenging tasks and manage multiple deliverables.
- Advanced coding skills using Python and SQL, with the ability to write, review, and troubleshoot code to solve business problems. Experience with other analytical tools such as Tableau or Alteryx is a plus.
- Advanced use of Microsoft Office suite of applications, specifically advanced Excel skills for financial modelling and analysis, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in a reporting or finance discipline (forecasting, financial accounting, or management reporting) or experience with external assurance requirements is a plus.
- A keen interest in climate reporting, climate outcomes, and the role that CBA can play in decarbonising Australia.
- Risk Mindset – All CommBank employees are expected to proactively identify and understand, openly discuss, and act on current and future risks.
- Tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance, or an equivalent business-related discipline.
- Accounting qualification (CA or CPA) is a plus.
