We are seeking a talented individual to join our Investments team at Mercer. This role will be based in Gurgaon. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
Investments (Trading Operations)
This role is an individual contributor who will be a part of Mercer’s Investment management Back-office team, and whose work has a direct impact on the team’s successful outcomes.
Directly participate and assist in the daily cash raising (trading) activities of the team, using a combination of technology and industry knowledge.
Prepare and assist in the creation of various invoices as required.
Preparing ad hoc reporting and reconciliations required by clients and other external parties.
Monitoring and maintaining some or all daily data loads and reconciliation into trading and reporting systems accurately.
We will count on you to:
- Maintaining a detailed understanding of all trade requirements including settlement durations and pre-trade notification periods.
- Analyze and initiate trades into the trading system including rebalance plan accounts as well as raising cash from custodians.
- Participate on monthly/weekly conference calls (daily during project launches) to determine the status of any open issues with transfer agents (responsible for maintaining the client account records) and custodians and administrators (secure the assets of the products).
- Provide oversight of daily position and transaction data feeds received into Mercer’s trading system and proprietary de-risking system.
- Responsible for daily morning processes, i.e. validate system pricing and holdings data, monitor plan funded status measurements and resolve day-over-day outlier activity.
- Prepare/review trade instruction letters for third-party products and client custodians.
- Coordinate month-end plan reconciliation workflows; Execute the collection and aggregation of monthly pension statements.
- Be able to reconcile large sets of data and understand reconciliation concepts.

- Ensuring compliance with all internal and client policies
- Providing timely updates to leaders and other stakeholders
- Training and coaching new hires in the team on automation tools
What You Need To Have:
- 4 years of experience in client trading, investment allocation monitoring or similar role.
- Graduate (B.com, BBA or equivalent )
- Master’s Degree in finance (in addition to accounting, economics or mathematics) and progress towards CFA and CIPM will be preferred
- Understanding of the concepts and derivation of the Net Asset Value calculation for a wide range of investment vehicles.
- Demonstrated ability to work in an environment where adherence to procedures and controls is critical.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills both internally and externally.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel.

- Familiarity with Defined Benefit Pension Plans and Defined Contribution Plans.
