Reporting into the Manager, Software Engineering, the Quality Engineer III is responsible for continuously improving the quality of the company’s product line by preventing, quickly detecting, and validating product and process defects, to deliver market and customer driven business results. You will evaluate the test results, prepare change requests and generate measures to assess the product quality. In this role you will work with an integrated team of developers, product managers, product owners, and system analysts for test planning, test automation and execution, and product validation.

To be qualified for this position you:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent
  • Must have working knowledge of test management and manual/automated testing tools for regression, cross browser and functional testing.
  • Must have experience in an Agile and/or SCRUM environment.
  • Experience with Scaled Agile (SAFe) is a plus.
  • Must have 8+ years of working automation experience.
  • Must have 5+ years of experience with AWS.
  • 5+ years of experience with JavaScript (or similar languages).
  • 5+ years of experience in business/systems testing.
  • 3+ years of experience with Cucumber with Selenium WebDriver
  • Must have strong experience using SQL for creating, updating and deleting for the management of test data.
  • Must be able to work cross-functionally to:
  • Must have knowledge of underlying technologies supporting the applications under test i.e., REST API’s, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, C#, Java, SQL, SFTP, microservices, and cloud architecture.
  • Must have working knowledge/experience with:
  • Ability to showcase an understanding of general testing techniques such as functional, integration performance and regression testing.
  • Identify gaps or missing elements across the test cycle.
  • Collaborate with User Experience and Customer Support to incorporate customer feedback into testing approaches.
  • Provide insights on best practices to ensure that deadlines are executed.
  • Agile work planning tools (JIRA or similar).
  • Source-control change management software (GIT or similar).
  • Test management software (TestRail or similar).
  • Continuous integration tools (GitLab Actions or similar).
  • Application performance management (NewRelic, Splunk, or similar).

You will set yourself apart with:

  • Docker experience.
  • Experience leveraging AI tools.
  • Healthcare industry experience.

You Will Be:

  • Assigned to a SCRUM team operating in 2-week sprints, you will be developing test plans, test scenarios and test cases based on the business, user, and functional/nonfunctional requirements.
  • Participating in daily stand ups at 9:15 AM ET.
  • Participating in weekly planning and refinement meetings.
  • Contributing to retrospectives and the inspection phase of SCRUM.
  • Utilizing JIRA for project planning and tracking.
  • Collaborating with the Product Owner on a regular basis.
  • Sharing your knowledge and expertise with your team members, as well as mentoring junior engineers to improve the overall quality of automation at Availity.
  • Creating and executing automated tests using user-level test automation tools and/or behavioral-driven test scenarios.
  • Validating and documenting the completion of testing and development processes to ensure compliance standards are met​.
