The Rates Analyst serves as the Finance team’s subject matter expert on rates and manages Rate Sets in the Billing system. The Rates Analyst oversees as well as modifies rate agreements to ensure compliance with current terms. Additionally, the Rates Analyst plays a significant role in the Finance team and contributes to the broader Firm strategy.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Manage the input of Rate Sets for the firm, adhering to established accounting guidelines.
  • Review and verify existing Rates/Rate Sets for accuracy and consistency in rate agreements.
  • Analyze, update, and monitor Rate Sets and override rates to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Review, identify and correct any discrepancies in Alternative Fee Rates.
  • Promptly and effectively communicate Alternative Fee agreements to Billing team members.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, primarily Finance and Billing, to ensure high-quality service both internally and externally.
  • Conduct regular analyses and report on the status of Rate Sets within the portfolio to relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:

  • Ability to analyze complex problems and propose or implement effective solutions.
  • Ability to exercise significant judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining positive working relationships internally and externally.
  • Ability to perform detailed analyses independently.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and effectively manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Outstanding analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Education And/Or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, or equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that demonstrates the requisite knowledge and ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Minimum (3) years of experience in financial management or reporting role.
  • Experience in a law firm or professional services environment preferred.

Hiring Salary Range:

$60,000.00 - $80,000.00
