Executive Manager (Business Analytics Department)

[What the role is]

Business Analytics Department leads the efforts to drive the use of business intelligence, analytics and artificial intelligence in NEA. You will be part of a dynamic team to identify opportunities for the adoption of business intelligence and data analytics across NEA departments, develop analytics solutions with clear deliverables, and communicate insights to influence decision-making. You will also build competencies amongst NEA staff through various initiatives.

[What you will be working on]

You will be responsible for the following:

• Engage stakeholders to understand their business challenges and identify opportunities for business intelligence and data analytics to improve operations, decision making, and financial management in NEA.
• Conceptualise, develop prototype and pilot business intelligence dashboards and data analytics solutions with departments. This includes performing data cleaning, automation of data processing, analysing datasets using analysis tools to discover insights.
• Work with various stakeholders to implement business intelligence dashboards in NEA’s Business Intelligence System (BIS)** or Whole-of-Government platforms and implement other data analytics solutions. This includes providing maintenance support for the dashboards and data analytics solutions that have been implemented.
• Communicate the data insights in a clear and compelling narrative, supported with impactful visuals, to influence key decision makers.
• Assist in establishing and maintaining data structure and governance framework for NEA's BIS.
• Assist to develop and implement initiatives to level up the business intelligence and data analytics competencies in NEA through various outreach programmes, Community of Practice events and other initiatives.

Note:  BIS is a dynamic business intelligence and analysis platform that provides an integrated view of cross-functional information across NEA.

[What we are looking for]

The job might be for you if you possess the following qualities:

• At least 5 years of relevant experience and competencies in business intelligence and data analytics work
• Experienced in creating appealing dashboards via Qlik Sense (preferred) and PowerBI.
• Experienced in programming language, python or R.
• Highly self-motivated individual who is mature, independent, and resourceful with a drive to learn and master new technologies.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong writing and analytical skills.
