Salary Range:

Operations Specialist - Knowledge Management (Grade 13, Exempt). Annual salary range: $67,360 – $84,200. This range reflects the minimum to midpoint of the grade. Salary may exceed the midpoint and will commensurate with experience.

Job Description Summary:

The Operations Specialist - Knowledge Management is responsible for partnering with the Government Accounts team to develop, manage, and deploy the team’s knowledge assets, ensuring effective utilization and alignment with the organization’s content management practices. Leveraging and administering technology solutions, this role enhances knowledge accessibility, collaboration, and operational efficiency. Additionally, the Operations Specialist supports the Director of Account Services in driving the operational functions of the Government Accounts and broader Enterprise Solutions teams.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Implement the organization’s operation policies and processes, collect best practices, write case studies, and deliver internal knowledge-sharing sessions to capture and share knowledge among colleagues on project/program outcomes.
  • Manage the knowledge management system with guidance from senior colleagues and ensure proper formatting, storage, naming, and organization in alignment with established SOPs, SWIs, and content management systems (e.g., SharePoint, Teams, SpekIT, Salesforce, and other systems).
  • Act as a team member supporting a change initiative by providing basic analysis, project plan updates, and other support to deliver prescribed outcomes.
  • Contribute to reviewing existing operations in own area of work, and generate new ideas to assist in identifying continuous improvements.
  • Support collection of business requirements using a variety of methods, such as interviews, document analysis, and workflow analysis, to express requirements clearly and succinctly.
  • Collate and summarize information for use in developing content and write first drafts of straightforward content for knowledge sharing. Ensures continual upkeep, updating, revising, editing, and loading of content to maintain accuracy and relevance.
  • Support others by carrying out a range of project management activities.
  • Monitor, identify, and correct straightforward software defects to maintain fully functioning performance management application software.
  • Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media. Facilitates communication and collaboration with other departments to ensure Government Accounts content integrates seamlessly into the organization’s systems and workflows.

Additional Job Description:

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree OR a combination of related post-secondary and/or professional education and demonstrated relevant work experience in knowledge management, continuous improvement, and/or project management equivalent to five (5) years
  • Understanding of knowledge management principles and methodologies
  • Project management experience
  • Organizational key operating functions knowledge (e.g., customer service, human resources, finance)
  • Experience with data management systems

Location:

  • This is a remote position, and is subject to Sourcewell's telecommuting policies and procedures.
  • On occasion, may be asked to travel to Staples, MN for meetings, professional development or team activities. Potentially twice per year. Notice will be given ahead of time.
