The 【Principal, Medical Science Liaison】 is a field-based member of the Medical Affairs team who serves as a strategic link between Alcon and Medical Experts (ME)/Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in the field of Ophthalmology and Optometry.

In this role, a typical day will include:

• Planning, and executing clinical trials/research and data collection activities
• Contributing to implementation of clinical protocols and facilitating completion of final reports
• Recruiting clinical investigators and negotiating study design and costs
• Directing human clinical trials, phases III and IV, for company products under development
• Participating in adverse event reporting and safety responsibilities monitoring
• Coordinating and providing reporting information for reports submitted to regulatory agencies
• Monitoring adherence to protocols and determining study completion
• Coordinating and overseeing investigator initiations and group studies
• Serving as medical consultant to marketing, commercial or research project teams and government regulatory agencies
• Signing off on product safety reviews
• In some organizations, may participate in adverse event reporting and safety responsibilities monitoring. May act as consultant/liaison with other corporations when working under licensing agreements

What You’Ll Bring To Alcon:

• Education/Experience：OD/MD/DO/MBBS /PhD/PharmD/Advanced Degree in Ophthalmology or Optometry.
• Languages: Fluency in English essential，Knowledge/Fluency of at least one other international area language preferred
• Experience: Advanced knowledge of eye diseases including ophthalmic surgical procedures and optometry.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in an ophthalmology or optometry field (academia, industry, clinical practice), with at least 2 of those in the ophthalmic industry or clinical practice.
• Experience in a HCP-facing role. Working knowledge of the Healthcare System and of the research procedures as well as the ICH guidelines, GCP, and other ethical guidelines.
• Essential knowledge of clinical trial design, product development, regulatory requirements, payer landscape, and life cycle management.
• Experience in scientific presentations and basic experience in medical writing and biostatistics.
• Proven ability and experience to develop and foster peer-to-peer, credible relationships with Medical Experts/decision makers.
