Recreation Assistant Manager

Summary

The Recreation Assistant Manager will work closely with the Recreation Manager to oversee the bicycle and golf cart rental operations to ensure an exceptional experience for guests and members. The primary responsibility of the Recreation Assistant Manager is to ensure that guest and member service standards are met, including efficient processing of bicycle and golf cart rentals, pickups, deliveries, cart cleanliness, staging, and storing.  The role of Recreation Assistant Manager requires excellent listening skills, eagerness to provide excellent service, as well as skills training Recreation Attendants. Flexibility in meeting the varying scheduling needs of the operation, additional hours may be required. This position requires a highly self-motivated individual who can work with minimal supervision and interact with staff, guests, and members at a high-level. 

Essential Functions

Responsible for oversight of daily operations for the Recreation and Naturalist programming across the resort. Responsible to ensure an efficient, timely, and accurate reservation process for rentals, pickups and deliveries. Maintain accurate records of product use. Ensure timely and accurate processing of associated charges. Responsible to ensure an efficient and superior quality experience for guests and members rental pickup and return. Responsible for the organization of, and cleanliness of bicycles, and golf carts, and departmental equipment. Maintains well organized and attractive distribution points. Oversee and organize property sweeps to pick up all rentals and equipment not returned. Follow procedures for proper opening and closing of the operation. Responsible for bicycle and golf cart fleet maintenance, cleanliness, condition and charging. Tract use to ensure rotation of golf carts to ensure uniform usage amongst the fleet. Assist Special Event personnel in the setup of events requiring golf carts and/ or bicycles. Organize and schedule associates to meet operational demands. Sourcing supplies necessary for day-to-day operations of their given areas. Development of Recreation Attendants through a coaching and mentoring role. Effectively communicate with peers, department Leadership team. Build positive relationships with all levels of Leadership and line-level Associates as to promote collaboration and teamwork. Responsible for the flow of communication with peers, management and the Recreation Manager.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, fluency in English.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, ability to effectively communicate with people from very diverse backgrounds and cultures.
• Advanced computer literacy in Microsoft office (including PowerPoint and Excel) and Internet navigation.
• Excellent analytical ability, knowledge in research methods and basic statistics to analyze data and formulate conclusions and action steps from results.
• Insightful approaches and methods for delivering competencies and skills.
• Ability to influence others.
• Be over the age of eighteen with a valid driver’s license, with a clean Motor Vehicle Record
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
•  Experience with and sense of positive customer service
•  Experience with and ability to collaborate and work in a team environment.
•  Excellent skills in task management and prioritization
•  Ability to follow directions, work independently and take initiative.
•  Skilled in problem identification and resolution
• Endurance for long hours in an active, stressful production setting with the ability to work outdoors in possibly extreme heat or in wet weather.
• Able to responsibly drive a cargo golf cart on the grounds for deliveries
• Be high energy!

Physical Demands

Work tasks are performed indoors and outdoors. There is no effective protection from weather. Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for 4+ hours in length.  Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis. Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs frequently. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill tasks.
