Job Description Summary
The Process Maintenance Technician is responsible for the ongoing planned and unplanned maintenance of manufacturing equipment and for directly supporting the use of the equipment during manufacturing activities.The Process Maintenance Technician will also support the planned and unplanned maintenance and operation of clean utility systems.
The Process Maintenance Technician must ensure all maintenance activities and statutory inspections are completed to schedule and in accordance with company and regulatory EHS and GMP requirements.
The successful candidate will be required to provide input on equipment installation, start-up, operation, troubleshooting, optimization and improvement activities to support the manufacture of products and sustaining operations.
The successful candidate will be a person with a strong work ethic; self-motivated, requires little supervision, and wants to continue learning and improving. She / He will have a strong sense of responsibility, with a high emphasis on Quality and Integrity.
Job Description
Roles And Responsibilities:
- Execution of the maintenance program for manufacturing equipment and clean utility systems, ensuring completion of preventative maintenance and sustaining equipment improvement activities.
- Provide hands-on technical and operational support during manufacturing activities.
- Use of the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Adherence to maintenance performance metrics.
- Support of the equipment reliability programme through the execution of monitoring and inspection routines.
- Management of maintenance spare parts and consumables.
- Support of requalification activities for manufacturing equipment.
- Execution of equipment and process safety maintenance and inspection routines.
- Assist in maintaining a safe, cGxP compliant work environment at all times.
- Provide out-of-hours manufacturing support.
- Support execution of all tasks associated with the preparation for and production of Mallinckrodt products in cGMP environment.
- Investigation, using structured problem-solving techniques, of equipment performance issues, including identification of root-cause and effective preventative actions.
- Drive a culture of Engagement and Continuous Improvement through identifying and implementing opportunities for improvement in process efficiency and compliance.
- Provide cross-functional support to other functions.
- Support on-call process.
- Other duties as required.
Experience, Qualifications And Education Requirements:
- Time-served craftsperson in a mechanical or electrical trade with a minimum of 10 years experience in a pharmaceutical cGMP manufacturing environment working in the direct support of manufacturing operations.
- Formal competency in maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical / automation systems.
- Direct experience in the operation and maintenance of GMP utility systems (i.e. WFI, Pure Steam, Compressed Gases).
- Direct experience in the operation and maintenance of manufacturing equipment across various technologies – sterilization, filtration, lyophilisation, etc.
- Experience in performing activities within the confines of stringent EHS processes.
- Experience in the maintenance of equipment within Hazardous Areas.
- Experience of operating within a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Experience in the application of lean principles and structured problem-solving techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to identify improvement initiatives.
- An ability to work independently and as part of a team. The successful candidate will be able to organise their own work on a routine basis and requires minimal supervision.
- Experience in working in cross-functional teams.
