Senior Software Engineer (Fullstack)

We are looking for a Senior Fullstack Engineer to join our Life Sciences team in Barcelona. As part of a cross-functional team, you will play a key role in developing and delivering Cortellis, a leading pharma-regulatory application that makes a real impact in the life sciences world.

We’re looking for someone with strong technical foundations, curiosity for new tools, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. You should take ownership of tasks, communicate clearly, and proactively contribute to team goals.

About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• +3 years of experience in Fullstack Software Development
• Experience in Java (Spring), Javascript/Typescript and Angular
• Relevant experience with microservices, APIs, and cloud infrastructure.
• Good knowledge of relational databases and non-relational databases

It would be great if you also had . . .

• Experience in CSS, Flexbox, Gradle, Mockito or similar, Junit or similar.
• Experience using GitHub Copilot or similar AI coding assistants.
• Interest in emerging AI development practices and tooling.

What will you be doing in this role?

• Designing scalable, maintainable systems using microservices, APIs, and cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS).
• Collaborating in Agile environments, actively contributing to sprint planning, retrospectives, and stand-ups.
• Taking ownership of tasks end-to-end, from concept through deployment, while applying strong problem-solving skills.
• Leveraging AI tools such as GitHub Copilot and staying updated on emerging AI development practices.
• Communicating clearly and working closely with a small, high-performing team.

Cortellis Drug Discovery Intelligence focuses exclusively on pharma and drug development, harmonizing and integrating essential biological, chemical and pharmacological data from disparate sources into a single platform.

Within a leading scientific organization of over 15,000 employees, our compact international team based on Barcelona stands out for its agility, expertise, and cross-functional collaboration. Comprising three software developers, one quality assurance engineer, two solution analysts, a UX designer, and a product owner, we work in concert with similar multiple teams to develop and evolve the Cortellis web framework. This is a full-time, permanent position based in our Barcelona office (just a short walk from the Sagrada Familia), with a hybrid working model.
