Solicitor | Insurance Litigation (Brisbane)

The Role

We have a wonderful opportunity for an experienced Solicitor or Associate to join our Brisbane team on a permanent full-time basis. You will be part of a dynamic team and will be responsible for overseeing a range of interesting, challenging defendant insurance files with reputable clients. In this role, you will receive ongoing mentoring and development from two Principals, as well as support from the wider team.

The core responsibilities of this role include:

• Managing a diverse range of defendant insurance claims, with a focus on personal injury and property and public liability claims, product liability, subrogated recovery actions and professional indemnity.
• Advising and communicating directly with clients.
• Preparing court documents, including pleadings, briefs, and motions
• Negotiating settlements, attending conferences, mediations, court and managing court processes.
• Providing guidance and mentorship to junior lawyers and support staff.

Who we are seeking

The successful candidate will possess the following:

• 2-5+ years PAE.
• Strong understanding of personal injury claims and processes (particularly under PIPA) as well as general liability claims, court procedure and pleadings.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills with clients and other practitioners.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A keen eye for detail and excellent time-management skills.
