Your New Role

• The Storage Platforms team provides Storage and Backup services for the banks on-premise platforms and databases. The team supports IBM SAN and Netapp NAS storage technologies, and well as backup services using Commvault and Netbackup. These services provide storage and backup for ESX, pSeries and Solaris platforms, and also Oracle and SQL databases.
• As a Manager Storage and Backup Technologies, you will be responsible for leading Agile Labour squads to deliver well maintained systems, in accordance with the banks Compliance Framework and Risk Policy. You will be responsible for prioritising workload across squads, and effectively managing competing demands from projects and other BAU teams.
• You will manage change, incidents and problems. You will identify and effectively manage risk on storage  platforms, to ensure the risk profile remains as low as reasonably practicable. You will ensure Storage Platforms delivers exceptional outcomes for the Banks customers.
• Work with key stakeholders to ensure systems comply with compliance framework and risk policy requirements.
• Manage incoming demands of squads, ensuring effective coverage while also ensuring time in lieu obligations are met
• Manage Agile Labour squads in accordance with contract forecast, to ensure spend remains within budget
• Drive simplification and hyper-standardisation with a view to lowering management costs and improving consolidation

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

• 14+ years’ experience working in technology (preferably supporting financial services industry)
• Experience managing teams in complex technology environments
• An understanding of IBM SAN storage& Netapp NAS storage
• An understanding of Commvault or Netbackup backup systems.
• Ability to lead squads of 10+ people, providing day to day leadership and workload prioritisation
• Proven leadership qualities and skills
• Proven analytical skills and evidence-based decision making
