Roles & Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor quality assurance protocols, procedures, and standards for ammunition manufacturing.
- Manage inspections, tests, and measurements to ensure compliance with product specifications and applicable quality standards.
- Collaborate with production, engineering and SCM teams to address quality-related issues in a timely and effective manner and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify areas of non-compliance and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate with customer and DGQA for third party inspection and address any quality concerns or complaints.
- Lead and mentor the quality team ensuring consistent training and development.
- Oversee creation and maintenance of quality records, including test reports, inspection logs, and compliance certificates.
- Prepare and present quality performance metrics and reports to senior management.
- Review and analyse quality performance data to identify quality trends and focus areas of improvement to improve efficiency and product quality.
- Analyse quality risks throughout the manufacturing process and develop mitigation strategies.
- Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Production or related discipline.
Experiences
- Proven 10+ years’ experience of similar role in defence industry preferably in ammunition manufacturing
- Proficiency in quality tools and problem-solving methodologies (e.g., SPC, FMEA, Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis).
- Knowledge of national and international quality standards, including ISO, MIL-SPEC, STANAG, JSS, and other relevant quality standards.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and protocols related to explosive materials.
- Experience with ballistic testing of ammunition is a plus.
