Under the direction of the Director, the Clinical Education Coordinator is responsible for assessing, planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating staff development and educational activities for the department. Serves as a clinical resource and role model, promoting an environment that encourages professional growth and quality patient care.

I. Major Responsibilities:

• 1.    Support clinical proficiency and professional development of staff through orientation and ongoing education.
• 2.    Design and deliver educational offerings using adult learning principles and varied teaching methodologies.
• 3.    Support staff development and departmental goals, including performance evaluations and preceptor development.
• 4.    Contribute to departmental and hospital-wide performance improvement initiatives, including policy development and communication.
• 5.    Serve as a role model and clinical expert, maintaining competency and promoting evidence-based practice.

II. Position Qualifications:
License/Certification/Education:
Required:
1.    BS/BSN
2.    Current RN license in Massachusetts
3.    Current CPR certification
Preferred (Department-Specific):
•    ACLS (ED)
•    PALS (ED)
•    Fetal Monitoring Certificate (OB)
•    NRP Certification (OB)
•    Certification in a related specialty

Experience/Skills:

Required:
1.    Minimum 3 years of nursing experience in the department specialty
Preferred:
1.    Experience in education

Critical care experience required, PACU experience preferred
