Johnson & Johnson is hiring for a Associate Scientist, Global Discovery Chemistry to join our team in Toledo, Spain.

We are seeking an experienced, and motivated analytical and separation scientist to join our team in Toledo, Spain as an Associate Scientist in Discovery Chemistry. In this laboratory-based position, the successful candidate will provide high throughput purification to support medicinal chemistry efforts. This includes purifying compounds from focused chemical libraries or singleton samples at µg to grams using various techniques, such as mass-directed reversed-phase high performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC). The candidate will work closely with scientists from Discovery Chemistry. Strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a team-oriented, results-driven environment are essential. Additionally, the candidate must possess strong interpersonal skills to influence collaboration in a multidisciplinary setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for isolating and purifying chemical compounds from reaction mixtures with precision and accuracy
  • Maintain high level of lab productivity ensure timely completion of purification tasks, supporting overall project timelines
  • Deliver rapid and reliable purification services to meet the demands of fast-paced research environments
  • Ensure clear and effective communication with key stakeholders
  • Work closely with experts across different sites and functions

Education:

  • B.Sc./Master degree in (analytical) chemistry or chemical engineering

Required:

  • Knowledge and relevant practical experience in analytical technologies like liquid chromatography, mass spectrometry and purification technologies.
  • Highly motivated and engaged team worker with a strong commitment to lab work
  • Plan and performs assigned scientific experiments in the lab. Ensures detailed recording and storage of all relevant experimental data for internal records.
  • Able to work in strongly automated environment
  • Excellent collaboration skills
