Purpose: We are seeking a dynamic Manufacturing Engineering Team Lead to drive and lead performance improvement initiatives in our medical device manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of implementing process enhancements, optimizing production efficiency, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. This role is pivotal in fostering a culture of continuous improvement to deliver high-quality medical devices efficiently and reliably.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Lead, inspire, and develop a team of manufacturing engineers focused on performance excellence and continuous improvement.
- Identify, analyze, and implement process improvements to enhance manufacturing efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
- Drive performance metrics such as cycle time, yield, throughput, and defect rates through Lean, Six Sigma, and other standard methodologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute strategies for process optimization and automation.
- Lead root cause analysis and CAPA activities to resolve manufacturing issues swiftly and prevent recurrence.
- Support validation activities, including process validation, equipment qualification, and design transfer, ensuring compliance with FDA, ISO 13485, and other standards.
- Develop and maintain documentation for process changes, validations, and performance improvements.
- Supervise KPIs and use data-driven insights to prioritize and implement targeted performance improvement projects.
- Develop a culture of innovation, proactive problem solving, and continuous learning within the team.
- Lead initiatives to optimize resource utilization, reduce costs, and improve overall manufacturing performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering
- Proven experience (+5 years) of manufacturing engineering experience in the medical device industry, with a focus on process improvement.
- Experience working at medical device industry or pharmaceutical, preferred.
- Strong expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other performance optimization methodologies.
- Deep knowledge of medical device regulatory requirements (FDA QSR, ISO 13485, EU MDR).
- Experience with process validation, automation, and risk management.
- Proficiency with CAD, MES, ERP systems, and automation tools.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and team leadership skills.
