- Manage the team overseeing day-to-day EH&S functions such as site and field visits, job site safety discussions, lead critical incident review meetings for the organization.
- Gain a thorough understanding of the Operating Organization's Procedures related to Environmental, Health, and Safety requirements specific to Electric Operations.
- Identify opportunities for enhancing safety to achieve a zero-harm workplace.
- Set and apply EH&S standards, criteria, and goals with the operating team in the region.
- Create strategies and guidelines that protect workers, local communities, and the environment from potential hazards linked to company operations.
- Oversee EH&S incidents using Maximo and the Safety Leadership System, and maintain data for weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting.
- Promote and uphold a culture of honesty, integrity, and transparency regarding environmental, health, and safety matters within both the Team and the Electric Operation Organization.
- Respond to emergencies during work hours and outside of work hours.
- Act as an organization's spokesperson with agencies including the NYSDEC, NYCDEP, USCG, NYFD, USEPA and OSHA. Keep senior management informed of significant EH&S-related events.
- Bachelor's Degree and 8 years related experience or
- Master's Degree and 6 years related experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Safety, Engineering, Physical Science, or a related field and 8 years (including 3 years of relevant EH&S experience) Related work experience in EH&S, Electric Transmission/Distribution, System Operations, Power Generation/Steam Operations, Construction or Substation Operations.
- Master's Degree in Environmental Science, Safety, Engineering, Physical Science, Business or a related field and 6 years (including 3 years of EH&S experience) Related work experience in EH&S or Operations.
- Must have 6 to 10 years related experience, required.
- Supervisory and/or managerial experience, required.
- Demonstrated ability to obtain results, required.
- Must successfully complete training in the Corporate EH&S Procedures within two (2) years of assignment, required.
- Must be highly motivated individual, demonstrate a strong Commitment to Excellence, and understand the vital importance of personal accountability, required.
- Ability to successfully complete multiple tasks without compromising quality or timelines, required.
- Must be able to develop concepts into successful safety and environmental programs, required.
- Ability to effectively interact with customers, support staff, regulatory agencies, and various levels of management, required.
- Initiate and champion change and have the ability to influence and persuade others in order to improve work practices/processes, required.
- Must be able to deliver exemplary customer service and develop a team spirited work environment in support of Con Edison's Corporate Values, required.
- Must demonstrate proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets and/or an ability to quickly become proficient with database packages including Microsoft Office (including Teams), EMIS, SHIMS, and Maximo, required.

- Ability to travel to company locations to work on storm restoration and heat contingencies
- Wear necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), i.e. fire-retardant clothing and safety harnesses
