SEO Content Editor

SEO Content Editor is responsible for leading a team of SEO Content Writers, overseeing daily operations, and ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of the department. This role involves providing editorial review to ensure the creation of high-quality, purposeful, and informative SEO content. The Editor will regularly collaborate with SEO Analysts to develop keyword lists that drive effective and engaging content, aimed at increasing conversions.

SEO Content Editor responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Lead and guide the daily tasks of a team SEO Content Writers by overseeing all projects and delegating workload to ensure the department is managed efficiently and meets its daily goals and expectations.
• Provide review and editing of SEO content to ensure it is purposeful, informative, and high-quality
• Meet with the SEO Analysts to research and develop keyword lists for use by the SEO Content Writers in producing effective and conversion capable content.
• Train and develop SEO Content Writer skills pertaining to Artificial Intelligence tools for the scalability of content creation.
• Develop and engineer content specific prompts for AI tools in the creation of SEO content
• Collaborate with stakeholder’s company-wide to understand and align content to specific business goals
• Set and ensure team goals including website traffic, performance, and engagement are met   
• Participate in collaborative discussions and contribute ideas to influence the SEO strategy 
• Monitor SEO Content Writers achievements and goals leveraging available analytics tools to assess content performance and identify new opportunities 
• Evaluate competitors to compare performance and identify additional opportunities
• Responsible for supporting marketing and training content and copywriting editing

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:

• High school Diploma or GED; Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communication, or related field preferred
• 3 years of relevant experience in SEO; 2 years’ experience as an editor, or similar position
• Experience working with SEO tools such as SEMrush, WordPress, Yoast, Google Analytics
• Demonstrative experience working with ChatGPT or other Artificial Intelligence tools in the creation of content for SEO purposes
• Previous experience working in supply chain or transportation industry a plus 
• Solid knowledge of core SEO principles (keywords and keyword variations, keyword stuffing, internal linking, etc.) and the ability to apply them to written content
• Ability to write in multiple styles: marketing, branding, formal, and journalistic.
• Excellent copywriting and editing skills; strong verbal communicator and presenter 
• Capability to produce short-form and long-form content across a variety of channels
• Solid project management skills
• Ability to think creatively and work effectively to quickly changing priorities and processes 
• Self-directed and collaborative -- ability to work autonomously and as part of a team as needed 
• Ability to write 4K to 5K researched words each week
• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently; Spanish is a plus
