Manager FMI Systems Development
Lead the development of critical financial systems at the heart of New Zealand’s monetary infrastructure, driving innovation, resilience, and security in a high-impact leadership role.
Te tūranga – The role
Join the Money Group, which stewards New Zealand’s monetary system and operates key financial market infrastructure. As Manager FMI Systems Development, you’ll lead the development, maintenance, and support of critical applications that underpin our Financial Market Infrastructures (FMI) ESAS and NZClear.
In this role you will manage a team of experts and product owners, oversee vendor relationships, and ensure high-quality service delivery. This role is pivotal in shaping the application roadmap, managing system risks, and ensuring cybersecurity alignment.
You will collaborate across teams and with external partners to deliver technology solutions that meet strategic and operational needs.
Ō pūkenga – About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Proven leadership experience in coaching, motivating, and managing high-performing teams, with a collaborative and inclusive approach.
- 7+ years’ experience in application support or development within financial or payment systems environments.
- Strong knowledge of financial markets infrastructure, including SWIFT, registry interfaces, and messaging protocols.
- Demonstrated success in managing technical teams and third-party vendors to deliver complex technology solutions.
- Deep understanding of SDLC, application security, secure network technologies, and risk management practices.
- Skilled in delivering complex programmes of work, with strengths in project management, business analysis, and continuous improvement.
- Eligible to obtain and maintain the appropriate level of New Zealand National Security Clearance.
