Job Overview:

The Ohio Department of Medicaid is seeking an experienced claims professional to supervise our Claims Resolution Team. As the Claims Resolution Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing daily activities of the claims resolution team, including reviewing reports and tracking performance (SLA) metrics.
  • Ensuring claims adhere to federal and state regulations, payer guidelines, and internal policies.
  • Identifying trends, errors, and inefficiencies in claims processing and recommending corrective actions or system enhancements.
  • Providing coaching and training to claims examiners, especially on complex claims or new procedures.
  • Presenting findings from claims reviews to the contractor, highlighting risks, resolutions, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Working closely with departments such as policy, provider relations, and IT to resolve issues and streamline workflows.
  • Overseeing credit balance, accounts receivable/payable, and IRS levy setup for processing, including research and monitoring.
  • Contacting providers to resolve billing issues and ensure timely problem resolution.

Qualifications

Completion of graduate core program in business, management or public administration, public health, health administration, social or behavioral science or public finance; 24 mos. exp. in planning & administering health services program or health services project management (e.g., health care data analysis, health services contract management, health care market & financial expertise; health services program communication; health services budget development, HMO & hospital rate development, health services eligibility, health services data analysis).

  • Or 24 months experience as a Medicaid Health Systems Administrator 1, 65295. Note: education & experience is to be commensurate with approved position description on file.
  • Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
