Role: Software Development Engineer In Test (Sdet)

Location: Charleston, Sc (Hybrid: 3 Days A Week Onsite)

About The Opportunity

Capgemini Engineering is seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to help shape the future of digital transformation in the Aerospace domain. In this role, you’ll contribute to the development of next-generation web-based testing solutions for a model-based systems engineering platform. You’ll be part of a collaborative, forward-thinking team working on high-impact projects that drive innovation and excellence.

Your Role

As an SDET, you’ll play a key role in building robust, scalable, and user-friendly testing solutions. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software that meets real-world needs.

  • Develop web-based test solutions using JavaSpring Boot, and React JS.
  • Design and implement test automation strategies aligned with modern CI/CD practices.
  • Build automation and self-service tools to streamline operations and improve developer experience.
  • Write secure, high-performance software for tools with high availability and throughput.
  • Guide clients through migration from legacy systems to modern cloud-based solutions (AWS).
  • Collaborate across disciplines to design a web platform that federates and leverages systems engineering data.
  • Analyze, enhance, and test existing software and develop new applications that meet user needs.
  • Document and report on project specifications, progress, and outcomes.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in Web automation.

Preferred Qualifications

We’re looking for someone who brings curiosity, creativity, and a passion for solving complex problems. Ideal candidates will have:

  • Experience leading the development of test frameworks.
  • Familiarity with testing tools such as SeleniumEggplant, etc.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShellPython, or JavaScript.
  • Full-stack development experience, including:
  • Strong understanding of RESTful API design and best practices.
  • Comfort working in agile, fast-paced environments.
  • Experience with Cameo MSOSA or No Magic Cameo architecture.
  • Front-end: HTMLCSSJavaScriptReact
  • Back-end: JavaSpring Boot
