They offer a wide spectrum of wire rod as well as SBQ and forging billet, products covering the full range of final applications. 

The CMO Bars & Rods team is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Product and Process Development Engineer to join his team. This role involves participating in the development of products and processes, managing industrial trials and collaboration with main stakeholders, such as Global R&D, operational facilities, sales. The successful candidate will also by in support for identifying new market opportunities and expansion of Bars & Rods business towards new emerging markets such as Electrical mobility, energy and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management, including reporting to main stakeholders 
  • Coordination of Product and Process related activities, in collaboration with other team members
  • Participation in industrial trials in collaboration with quality and operations department.
  • Support to identification of new market opportunities 
  • Close coordination with the mills of ongoing certification and homologations
  • Preparation of material and organization of technical trainings to internal stakeholders and external clients on relevant topics.
  • Conduct technical and competitive watch
  • Support to sustainable development activities, such as EPD development and CO2 reduction initiatives.
  • Central coordination of sustainable development and decarbonization projects, in collaboration with Xcarb team
  • Support for communication and marketing related activities, such as fairs, customer events

Requirements:

  • Experience in equivalent position of minimum 3 years
  • Master's degree (Bac +5) in Materials Science, Metallurgy, or Chemistry.
  • Project management skills
  • Strong initiative and ability to work independently.
  • High level of rigor and precision in work.
  • Availability to work outside regular hours if necessary.
  • Excellent communication and cooperation skills with production, research, and engineering teams.
  • General technical training including knowledge in materials science, mechanics, and chemistry/metallurgy.
  • Previous experience as product and business development engineer in the industry, preferably in the metallic materials and automotive sector, is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge in the field of carbon steels.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word.
  • Fluency in French and English is mandatory; German and Luxembourgish are a plus.
