We have an opportunity for an experienced leader to join our Technology CI/CD team as Platform Lead.
The CI/CD team are responsible for promoting the CI/CD Capability within the BNZ including providing pipelines and deployment tooling (with a major focus on the Bank’s Kubernetes platforms) and also other ancillary tooling such as Artifact Stores, and Source Control.

What are 5 day to day tasks the person in this role will complete?
- Collaborate across Platforms and Engineering to help drive the customer vision for platforms and developer experience with a focus on CI/CD processes and platforms, roadmaps and outcomes
- Support and guide the team through customer problems to solve and ensure platform currency, security and standards are being met to a high standard
- Maintain both a Run and Grow portfolio of work and it’s supporting technology channels such as Teams & Jira ensuring that work is completed within SLA guidelines.
- People leadership, guidance and upskilling. Being able to grow our people and help them learn and grow in their roles.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to be able to work across tech to achieve outcomes for our tech strategy.
What is the most exciting thing about this opportunity?
This role sets and enables the direction of CI/CD practices for the organisation. There are many areas of opportunity and a lot of new and cool technologies and customer problems to explore.

What technical skills are required for this role?
We are looking for a passionate advocate for all things CI/CD with experience leading the team and the wider organisation to better CI/CD outcomes. You’ll thrive off making things faster and simpler while increasing the security posture of the organisation. You will also bring:
- Fundamental grasp of the basics of CI/CD technologies to support the team through product and technical decision making
- Product Ownership Experience: Proven experience as a Product Owner or similar role, ideally in platform products.
- People Leadership: Experience in leading and developing technical teams through all stages of the employee lifecycle.
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of software development processes and platform architecture.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Ability to use data and KPIs to inform prioritisation and product decisions.
- Agile Methodologies: Proficient in agile practices, including sprint planning and user story development.
