Job Purpose
We are looking for a talented and motivated Cloud Engineer to join a dynamic Agile team. The role requires strong expertise in cloud-native technologies, automation, and security, with a particular focus on AWS. You will be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining secure, scalable cloud infrastructure while ensuring high performance, operational efficiency, and compliance.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure Management
- Design, implement, and manage scalable and reliable cloud infrastructure on AWS.
Automation & Ci/Cd
- Build and maintain automation pipelines with Terraform, GitLab CI/CD, and Shell scripting to streamline deployments.
Networking & Connectivity
- Configure and manage AWS Transit Gateway (TGW), Direct Connect, and other networking services to support secure hybrid cloud operations.
Containerization & Orchestration
- Manage workloads on Amazon EKS and use Istio for traffic management, observability, and security at the service mesh layer.
Monitoring & Observability
- Implement monitoring and alerting solutions using CloudWatch, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry (OTEL) to ensure system reliability.
Security & Compliance
- Enforce cloud security best practices, handle patching and vulnerability remediation, and leverage AWS Security Hub and GuardDuty for ongoing compliance.
Collaboration
- Partner with development, operations, and other teams to align infrastructure solutions with business requirements.
Scripting & Tooling
- Develop and maintain automation scripts in Python and Shell to improve operational workflows and eliminate manual tasks.
Required Skills & Experience
- AWS Expertise: Hands-on experience with AWS core services such as VPC, EC2, S3, IAM, Route 53, EKS, SSO, and MSK.
- Networking: Strong knowledge of AWS networking concepts, including Transit Gateway (TGW) and Direct Connect.
- Infrastructure as Code: Proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning.
- CI/CD: Experience building and managing pipelines using GitLab CI/CD.
- Containerization: Deep understanding of Kubernetes (EKS) and Istio service mesh.
- Scripting: Skilled in Python and Shell scripting for automation and tool development.
- Monitoring: Practical experience with monitoring solutions such as CloudWatch, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.
- Security: Expertise in vulnerability remediation, patching, and AWS security services like Security Hub and GuardDuty.
- Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, proactive mindset, and adaptability in Agile/Scrum environments.
